"Every business owner is a dreamer. Following your dreams will lead to success. A great customer service program implemented by the right staff can make all the difference."

Barbara Davis Employment Services NJ Barbara Davis built her business on the belief that customer service is the cornerstone of any successful business. On the heels of her 20th Anniversary, Barbara Davis Employment Services is a successful professional office staffing firm that places individuals in full-time regular, temporary, temp-to-hire, and part-time positions from the mail room to the board room. A testament to Barbara's business acumen is the fact that her agency continually boasts a 90 percent success rate among job candidates who accrued full-time employment on their first job assignment.

Barbara annually places over 500 talented direct hire and temporary employees to meet the specific needs of diverse business clients. Barbara listens carefully to business clients. She screens all prospective candidates for proficiency in professional skills to eliminate mismatches.

No client in Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer and Middlesex Counties is too small or too large for Barbara. A former Katharine Gibbs School Placement Director for that firm's executive offices in New York City, she started her direct hire and temporary employment service in 1987. A certified woman-owned business, Barbara Davis Employment Services expanded its customer service menu to include an interactive web site. The web site directs informational updates to employers, temporary employees and prospective job candidates and provides helpful updates on trends in employment hiring.

"My web newsletter reminds prospective job candidates that it is a tough market out there," said Barbara, a former Monmouth County president of New Jersey's foremost businesswomen's advocacy organization, the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO). "As president of the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, I shared my insights about the importance of effective communication skills in the workplace. It's all about possessing great professional and human skills, and we are proud to employ professionals who are outstanding in both areas."

In fact, Barbara has made her mark in the business world by observing trends and creating market niches in the employment sector. In late summer 2006, Barbara placed a high focus on her peers and initiated a specialized "Baby Boomer" division within her agency, a program focusing on cutting edge training and job placement for the growing 50 plus market.

According to Barbara, "There are many economic factors at play that will continue to shift demographics surrounding the public and private employment sector. The cuts in pension pay, coupled with the need for medical benefits, further emphasized by the fact that we are living longer are growth spurts that our agency is taking into consideration. The launch of our "Baby Boomer" initiative will serve as a bridge to the 50 plus crowd who are making a transition into another phase of their life. It's filling a gap that has been widely ignored until now."

Barbara's business savvy has worked in her favor as an estimated 75 percent of her 50 plus clients have remained in their first job placement longer than five years.

At the start of 2007, Barbara has taken her business to the next level having launched a cutting-edge testing and training center fully equipped to offer a wide range of multimedia including simulations, pictures, audio and graphics to deliver real-world content for prospective job candidates seeking a broad, innovative job preparation experience. Also referred to as "e-Learning," this broad training measures competency, enhances productivity and provides customized programs to cultivate a highly effective workforce.

Barbara does not accomplish anything in a mediocre fashion. "When a business sets high standards, everyone works to achieve excellence," said Barbara, who has received numerous honors as an achieving business leader in Monmouth County and New Jersey. "During my presidency with the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, my business received the Silver Gull Community Service Award for outstanding service."

Most recently Barbara was awarded the title "Business Owner of the Year" in 2006 at the Central Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) "Platinum Star Awards" dinner.

"My firm has grown because of two primary factors: good business practices and strong networking skills to keep us visible before key New Jersey employers. I've always said that networking is not who you know, but who knows what you know. Good communications and team-building skills are rewarded by the business community."

Barbara has been a featured employment expert in various publications contributing her insight to news articles within such newspapers as the Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press and Business News NJ to name a few.

Barbara Davis Employment Services belongs to the Eastern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, and the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce.

Currently Barbara's newest endeavor is the launch of Joint Vistas, LLC with business partner, Rich DeCrescenzo. The company serves as a consulting business to help small to mid-sized corporations reach the next level of efficiency.

Barbara received her Psychology degree from the University of Rhode Island. On her downtime, Barbara likes spending quality time with her family, Heather and Melissa, and her life partner, Rich. Wherever life leads her, Barbara Davis takes pride in operating an agency that will continue to grow and meet employers' and employees' needs in the new millennium.
